After 18 years of negotiations, two of the worldβs largest economic powers β India, the worldβs 4th largest economy, and the European Union, the 2nd largest economy β have signed a historic Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
Representing nearly 25% of global GDP, this landmark agreement is a true game-changer for the RomInd community and for bilateral trade between India and Romania.
Under the FTA, over 99% of Indian exports (by value) will enter Europe duty-free, while tariffs on more than 96.6% of EU goods entering India will be eliminated or significantly reduced.

To protect domestic interests and farmers, certain sensitive products such as chicken, rice, and sugar are excluded from tariff reductions.
